AJITER – Terceira Island Youth Association hosted, last Friday and Saturday, March 3rd and 4th, at its Headquarters, in Angra do Heroismo, the international partners of the Erasmus+ project "Green Youth - Educational materials for sustainability environmental “, for what was the first face-to-face working meeting of this cooperation partnership in the fields of youth that it is coordinating.
The international consortium of this partnership is formed by iED, from Greece, YES, from Italy, EURASIA, from Turkey, VAEV, from Austria and AJITER as the Portuguese representative.
Together, these partners aim, within the scope of this project, to train young people between the ages of 14 and 18 as well as technicians and youth animators, association leaders, multipliers and even local political decision-makers based on tools and digital content that will enable them to allow greater awareness of protection issues and contribute to environmental safeguarding and sustainability, considering the immense challenges facing our communities, namely climate change, global warming or different types of pollution and other environmental aggressions.
In fact, in quantitative terms, the project will provide three fundamental products: As a first result, a Digital Toolkit with 8 pedagogical modules for young people in Environmental Education; As a second result, “GREEN OER”, that is, a digital platform for online “e-learning” training on the same topic and, finally, a Mobile APP containing video resources aimed at encouraging better environmental habits and practices.
The contents of this project aim to directly benefit around 2000 people.
In this first working meeting, the partners had the opportunity to envisage a better practical operationalization and planning of the work to be carried out, as well as to articulate the methods of internal coordination and communication, having already started to develop the first planned product.
In the intercultural and social dimension, participants had the opportunity to discover some of the natural landscapes, history, culture and gastronomy of Terceira Island.
Organizations will, whenever appropriate, publicize the results and development status of this project on their communication channels.
