VII “Angra com Futuro” Fair brought together around 40 entrepreneurial projects

The seventh edition of the “Angra com Futuro: Entrepreneurial Projects and Training Exhibition” Fair took place on November 7, 8, and 9, once again held—as in the two previous editions—at the Multipurpose Pavilion of the Multisectoral Park of Terceira Island, in Angra do Heroísmo.

Based on the model consolidated in six previous editions—between 2015 and 2023—the seventh edition did not disappoint, allowing the importance and notoriety of the event to be affirmed among the Terceira public, evidenced by the increase in visitors and the diversity of the projects on display, as well as the quality of the representations present.

In total, around 40 projects from a wide range of areas were present, ranging from scientific research projects from the University of the Azores, doctoral or research projects in the area of textile waste utilization, to technological development using Artificial Intelligence (AI), interior design architecture using 3D technology, 3D printing, gastronomic innovation projects based on local products, recycled decorative items, multifunctional handmade textile creations based on the use of textile waste, veterinary management, clothing and sewing, and sustainable mobility based on the supply of electric vehicles (EV).
In addition, the Fair also featured the participation of various committees from several summer festivities for 2026, which, with their traditional cuisine offerings, simultaneously satisfied the stomachs of participants and visitors and raised funds for their respective festivities.
Entrepreneurship related to the development of the creative and fashion sector and sustainability was also a focus within the strategy that this organization has been developing as part of the “TEXTIL” project, which brings together partners from the Azores, Madeira, Cape Verde, and the Canary Islands and is funded by the INTERREG MAC 2021-2027 program. This edition of the Fair gave it a special place in the program, as well as the already vast diversity of projects mentioned above.
The “Angra com Futuro” Fair was the result of a partnership between AJITER – Associação Juvenil da Ilha Terceira (Terceira Island Youth Association) and the Angra do Heroísmo City Council, consisting of two fundamental aspects: an exhibition of good entrepreneurial practices and the training of current and future entrepreneurs and/or all types of professionals, through the promotion of a series of training courses and workshops, presentations, or awareness-raising activities on the critical factors of competitiveness.
The “VII Angra com Futuro Fair: Entrepreneurial Projects and Training Exhibition” demonstrated the entrepreneurial spirit of young people, recognizing its importance for innovation in supply, through promotion, creativity, innovation, and competitiveness, which are fundamental pillars for economic development. The fair was attended by representatives from other Azores islands, such as São Miguel and Santa Maria, as well as participants from the island of Madeira and even the Canary Islands.
The “Angra com Futuro” project was designed and has been developed to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of young people and foster business motivation, recognizing the importance of knowledge sharing and dissemination of good practices in encouraging qualified entrepreneurship and promoting creativity, innovation, and competitiveness, which are fundamental pillars for the development of the local economy.
This three-day program included a series of six workshops held on November 7, 8, and 9, with the exhibition reserved for Saturday, November 8. In addition to the exhibition of entrepreneurial projects and training sessions, there were also several cultural events, such as performances by local stand-up comedians, DJs, and children's entertainment.
It should be noted that there was a very significant turnout for the various training sessions, in workshop format, which were completely free of charge for participants. These included the following Workshop: “Simplifying Organization with Notion,” by Cláudia Vieira; Workshop: “Introduction to 3D Printing,” by André Branco from Azur3D Labs; Workshop: “Graphic Design - How to Use CANVA,” by Daniela Guilherme; Workshop “How You Don't Have to Give Up Happiness and Well-Being to Achieve Results” by Sofia Manso; Workshop “Project Management” by Miguel Carvalho e Melo; and Workshop “Design and Marketing - Effective Visual Language with CANVA - Level 2” by Alizée Laurence - Canvassador & Canva Creator, in English.
At the end of the event, AJITER - Associação Juvenil da Ilha Terceira (Terceira Island Youth Association), through its President Décio Santos, addressed a word of thanks to all participants and entities that made it possible, exhibitors, trainers, visitors, companies, and service providers, promising to return for an eighth edition.
Finally, it should be noted that the opening of the Fair was led by the Mayor of Angra do Heroísmo, Fátima Amorim, and was also attended by the Councilor of Praia da Vitória, John Branco.
