"YOUTH 4 OUTERMOST REGIONS" supports projects by and for young people

On March 7, AJITER - Associação Juvenil da Ilha Terceira (Youth Association of Terceira Island) presented a new support program that it is promoting in the region at the Centro Cultural e de Congressos de Angra do Heroísmo.

Co-financed by the European Union and called "YOUTH 4 OUTERMOST REGIONS", its aim is to support a New Generation of Young Agents of Change for Inclusive and Sustainable Development".

This initiative consists of providing financial support to projects and actions led by young people in the outermost regions through the launch of two lines of support that will finance young people and/or young people with amounts between 5,000 and 10,000 euros.

Young people, individually or in teams, and organizations working with young people are invited to propose actions to improve their local communities or regions and promote development - on any issue or topic they consider important.

Applicants must be aged between 15 and 24 on the closing date of the call and reside in one of the outermost regions involved.

Associations or educational and non-profit institutions (public or private) carrying out activities must target young people aged between 15 and 24 and must be legally established in one of these regions.

The actions must have a duration of 6 months or 10 months, and the deadline for submitting applications is May 9, 2024, by 9:59 p.m. (local time in the Azores).

Implementation of the selected actions will begin on September 1, 2024.

Applications must be submitted electronically via the website https://youth4outermostregions.eu/ and can be made in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese, and selection will be based on the application of a balance between the score obtained and its geographical location.

The selection process is carried out by a Selection Committee made up of a group of professional evaluators.

The final list of actions selected for funding will be approved by the European Commission.

In the Azores, as already mentioned, AJITER is the driving force behind this joint initiative, which extends to other outermost regions such as Madeira, the Canary Islands, Saint Martin, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Mayotte and Réunion.

The YOUTH 4 OUTERMOST REGIONS project is co-financed by the European Union in partnership with the Startup Europe Regions Network and its partner organizations, such as AJITER in the Azores.

It should be noted that this project is valid for organizations and young people residing on all the islands in the region and several other dissemination sessions will be held in the coming weeks, two of which will be online, on March 13 and April 2, at 4pm, and participation is subject to registration at the following
